Prism
Prism is Firefox with all the bells and whistles stripped out.
If you want Salesforce and other websites to really fly: http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Prism
Windows version: http://people.mozilla.com/~mfinkle/prism/prism-0.9.en-US.win32.exe
Mac version: http://people.mozilla.com/~mfinkle/prism/prism-0.9.en-US.mac.dmg
One very nice thing about Prism is that every web app runs in a separate process, so you can be logged into more than one Salesforce account at one time. If you decide to use it, I have a couple tips for you:
- Always create your prism app with the boxes checked for showing the address bar and allowing keys
- If you allow keys, you can use Alt+Left Arrow to go Back.
- You can create prism apps that automatically log into a client account -- use a URL like this:
https://login.salesforce.com?un=admin@org.org&pw=myPwd
Prism is ideal for configuration -- adding fields and picklist values and so on -- because page updates are so much faster. It isn't as good for development or general use, because there are no tabs and you can't use Firebug.
